We are required to complete continuing professional development each year. Our knowledge is therefore kept up to date and we understand how the latest regulations affect you or your business. We hold a practising certificate and professional indemnity insurance, meaning you are protected against work we perform that harms you or your business.
Terry Phillips FCCA
Terry studied Economics at the University of Sheffield and passed the professional examinations of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 1974. He was admitted as an Associate Member in 1975 and was subsequently admitted as a Fellow of the Association 5 years later. Soon after qualifying he moved into the Accountancy profession by joining a large firm of Accountants at their Liverpool office. Following a period of time he was appointed Audit Manager. Terry later joined a firm of accountants based on the Wirral and worked there for 30 years. Terry formed Phillips & Co in 2013 as a sole practitioner. An increasing demand for his services and excellent client feedback led to a quick expansion of the business. This expansion continues to this day with Phillips & Co maintaining its proactive approach to accounting and tax and a move towards a completely digitally run practice.
Mark Phillips BSc
Mark graduated from Lancaster University in 2002 with a degree in Mathematics with statistics and has worked in banking and finance since. He joined Phillips & Co Chartered Certified Accountants in 2013 and has worked his way up to Practice Manager. His duties include maintaining all accounting software systems and computer hardware. He is also respsonsible for the company's website, social media and all forms of advertising. He is studying towards the ACCA qualification.
Lynda Walsh MAAT
Lynda completed the AAT examinations to become a qualified accounting technician in 2003 and subsequently became an ACCA student in 2011. She completed the ‘applied knowledge and skills’ examinations thus achieving a bachelor degree in 2015. She is now taking the final strategic professional papers to achieve a masters degree to become ACCA qualified. With experience in both industry and practice roles she is excited to be part of the Phillips & Co team as Accounts Manager.
Lindsey Kelly MICB
Lindsey has a degree in Education but found that her interest in numbers diverted her to Retail, Finance and Banking positions. In 2017, she decided to embark on a bookkeeping career and has completed Levels 2 and 3 of the AAT Accountancy qualification. She is now a qualified Member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and after gaining experience in accountancy roles over the years she is looking forward to the challenges she will face as Client Manager at Phillips & Co.
